The Tugela labeo is a freshwater fish found in African rivers. It has an elongated body and is known to be a game fish. This species feeds mainly on algae, diatoms, and detritus and frequents deep pools and slow river stretches.
Where they live
Found in freshwater rivers across Africa, from near sea level up to 1,520 meters elevation. Prefers deep pools and slow-flowing areas but can also be found in rocky rapids.
