The Trahira is a predatory freshwater fish known for its elongated body and nocturnal hunting. It is active at night and often rests among vegetation during the day. This species can form schools or be found in small groups.
Where they live
Found in a variety of freshwater habitats across North and South America, including clear streams, turbid waters, irrigation ditches, and ponds. Prefers water temperatures between 30 and 35.5 °C and slightly acidic to neutral pH.
