The Sampa is a large, elongated freshwater catfish known for its strength and size. It thrives in calm, muddy waters and is a sought-after game fish in African freshwater habitats. This omnivorous predator feeds on various organic materials and small aquatic creatures.

Where they live

Found in calm freshwater bodies across Africa with muddy and silty bottoms, usually up to 10 meters deep. Prefers slow-moving water where it hunts and scavenges.
