The Rabbit fish, also known as Chimaera or Ghost shark, is a deep-water species known for its elongated body and sluggish behavior. It inhabits deeper southern waters and migrates to shallower depths in northern areas during summer. This predator hunts small benthic creatures on the ocean floor.
Where they live
Found in saltwater across the Atlantic and Mediterranean, Rabbit fish live mostly at depths from 40 to 1400 meters, preferring deeper waters but moving shallower in summer in northern regions.
