The misty grouper is a large, solitary deep-water fish known for its impressive size and solitary habits. Juveniles may be found in shallower waters, but adults prefer depths between 100 and 400 meters. It is a predator feeding on various squid, fish, and crustaceans.
Where they live
Found in deep saltwater habitats from 30 to 400 meters deep, common in the Atlantic, Pacific, Caribbean, and Gulf of Mexico. Prefers rocky bottoms and reef areas in these regions.
