The Mexican snook is a popular game fish found in coastal and freshwater habitats. It has a streamlined, fusiform body and can grow up to 90 cm long and weigh as much as 9 kg. This predatory fish feeds mainly on smaller fish and crustaceans.

Where they live

Found in coastal waters, estuaries, lagoons, and freshwater areas across North America, the Caribbean, and the Atlantic. Prefers brackish to freshwater zones, especially for spawning.
