The Machaca is a freshwater game fish known for its striking fusiform shape. Juveniles eat a mix of insects and plant matter, while adults mostly feed on vegetation. It inhabits a variety of freshwater bodies including lakes and rivers, making it a versatile target for anglers.

Where they live

Lives in lakes, rivers, and streams in North America. Prefers shallow waters up to 5 meters deep with temperatures between 21 and 34°C.
