The Longfin African conger is an eel-like predator found in shallow reefs and lagoons. It is nocturnal and feeds mainly on fishes and crustaceans. This species can grow up to 140 cm in length and is targeted by anglers.

Where they live

Common in brackish and saltwater environments including reef flats, seagrass beds, estuaries, and outer reef slopes down to 80 meters. Found in the Atlantic, Pacific, and Indian Oceans.
