The lesser sandshark, also known as the lesser guitarfish, has an elongated body and is a member of the Rhinobatidae family. It inhabits shallow coastal waters near the surf zone and preys on bottom-dwelling creatures. This species is considered a game fish and is found in parts of Africa, the Atlantic, and the Indian Ocean.

Found in shallow brackish and saltwater near the surf zone up to 75 meters deep in regions including Africa, the Atlantic, and Indian Ocean.
