The Largescale mullet is a versatile fish found in a range of water types from freshwater rivers to coral reef coastal waters. They often form schools and gather in large groups during spawning in the sea. They have a fusiform body shape and can reach up to 60 cm in length.
Where they live
Found in shallow coastal waters, coral reefs, mangrove creeks, inlets, and freshwater rivers across Africa, Asia, and Oceania. They inhabit brackish to freshwater zones up to around 10 meters deep.
