The Japanese eagle ray is a striking ray species found mainly around Japan and the East China Sea. It has a broad, kite-shaped body and is a carnivorous predator of bottom-dwelling animals. This ray can grow up to 1.5 meters long and inhabits waters from the shore down to depths of around 220 meters.

Where they live

Occurs in saltwater from shallow intertidal zones down to 220 meters, favoring sandy areas near rocky regions in the Pacific seas around Japan and East China.
