Hoven's carp, also known as the golden shark or mad barb, is a freshwater fish native to Asia. It has an elongated body and can grow up to 100 cm long. This species primarily feeds on seeds, insects, and zooplankton, with adults consuming more plant matter.

Where they live

Found in shallow freshwater regions in Asia, typically at depths up to 3 meters. Prefers habitats where it can feed on seeds from terrestrial plants and hunt insects and small aquatic animals.
