The Gulf flounder is a popular game fish known for its flat, wide body and excellent camouflage on sandy bottoms. It is prized by anglers for its challenging catch and tasty flesh. This species can grow up to 71 cm in length and weighs as much as 2.8 kg.
Where they live
Found in saltwater regions of the Gulf of Mexico, Atlantic, and Caribbean, from shallow waters around 20 meters down to depths of 130 meters. Prefers sandy or muddy bottoms where it can blend in.
