The Dover sole is a saltwater flatfish known for its short, deep body shape and prized as a game fish. It inhabits depths ranging from shallow coastal waters to over a thousand meters deep. This species is a predator that hunts small bottom-dwelling creatures in the ocean.

Where they live

Found in Pacific North American saltwaters, Dover sole live on the sea floor from 10 to 1370 meters deep. Juveniles and adults occupy similar habitat zones along the continental shelf and slope.
