Cobia is a large, elongated predator known for its strong fight and prized as a game fish. It inhabits coral reefs and tolerates a range of salinities from brackish to oceanic waters. Known also as black kingfish, it is popular among anglers for its size and sporting qualities.
Where they live
Found in warm Atlantic and Mediterranean waters, cobia live near coral reefs from shallow to depths up to 1200 meters, tolerating a wide range of salinity levels including brackish and hypersaline conditions.
