The Burrito grunt is a medium-sized carnivorous fish known for its short, deep body and distinctive yellow tail. It feeds mostly at night on reef invertebrates. Popular with anglers, it inhabits rocky or coral reefs in the Pacific region.

Where they live

Found in shallow to moderately deep Pacific saltwater reefs, from 3 to 30 meters depth. Active mainly at night, it prefers reef structures where it hunts invertebrates.
