The Broadband anchovy is a small, elongated fish commonly found in coastal and estuarine waters. It is likely anadromous, moving between saltwater and freshwater environments. This species plays a role in the food chain by feeding selectively on plankton.

Where they live

Found in coastal and inshore waters down to 50 meters deep, ranging from saltwater to brackish and freshwater habitats in South America, including the Atlantic and Caribbean. It often enters estuaries and freshwater up to 100 km inland.
