The Blackmouth catshark is a small, elongated shark found mainly on the upper and middle slopes of the western Mediterranean Sea. It is a demersal predator that hunts squid and other macrofauna in deep waters. Although not a game fish, it is the most abundant demersal shark in its region at depths from around 1000 to 1400 meters.

Where they live

Found in saltwater across the Atlantic and Mediterranean, the Blackmouth catshark inhabits deep marine slopes from 55 to over 1400 meters, most commonly between 1000 and 1400 meters.
