The Bank steenbras is the largest member of its family, known for its deep body and strong build. It inhabits offshore rocky or muddy banks and is a day-active predator. This fish feeds mainly on small bottom-dwelling creatures, squid, and small fish.
Where they live
Found offshore along rocky and muddy banks in the Atlantic and Indian Ocean near Africa, from shallow waters down to 150 meters deep.
