The Atlantic goliath grouper is a massive and solitary predator found around coral reefs. It can grow up to 2.5 meters long and is known for its impressive strength. Juveniles inhabit mangroves and brackish estuaries before moving to deeper reef areas.
Where they live
Found in shallow, inshore coral reefs and rocky or muddy bottoms in brackish and saltwater environments, including estuaries and mangroves. Range includes the Atlantic and parts of the Pacific.
