The Antarctic jonasfish is an elongated deep-sea fish found in cold southern oceans. Juveniles primarily feed on small planktonic crustaceans. It is not targeted as a game fish.

Where they live

This saltwater species inhabits depths from the surface down to 2000 meters in cold waters of the Atlantic, Pacific, and Indian Oceans near Antarctica.
