The African spadefish is a deep-bodied, saltwater predator found near reefs. It feeds on organisms living among rocks and coral. This species can grow up to 75 cm in length and is known as a game fish.

Where they live

Found in shallow to moderately deep coastal reef waters in Africa, Atlantic, and Indian Ocean regions up to 70 meters deep.
